It will be a night of celebrating and remembering those who have fought for freedom at Red, White, and Rock.
The event, which was announced Friday at Callihan’s American Pub and Grill by The Vindicated’s Aaron Kitchen, will host a rock concert at the Boyd County Community Center May 24 on Memorial Day weekend.
“We will be making noise,” Kitchen said to a room full of friends and sponsors. “Veterans will get in for free, and it will be all about them.”
The concert will benefit Honor Flights Kentucky, a nonprofit organization that takes veterans to Washington D.C. for a day and tours all the historical landmarks and memorials.
The Vindicated, along with three other bands, Seth Ferguson, The Midnight Ride and Bright Nights will take the stage Friday evening May 24 kicking off Memorial Day weekend.
“We are going to blow the roof off the center,” Ferguson said. “I am honored to be a part of this.”
Ticket info and pricing for the event is available at redwhiterock.eventbrite.com.
“We are also excited to team up with Honor Flight Kentucky,” Kitchen said. “It costs money to put on something like this, but a portion of the proceeds will benefit Honor Flight Kentucky.”
Phil Pittman, ambassador of Honor Flight Kentucky also attended the event and announced their excitement of the partnership with Red, White, and Rock.
“Aaron and everyone involved has been working very hard to put this together, and we are so happy they have included us,” Pittman said.
May 24 will mark not only the kickoff of the Memorial Day weekend but also the release of the Vindicated’s EP of Volume.
“It will be a special time not only because of the release of Volume but rocking out with those who are the reason we have music to write and perform,” Kitchen said.
Inspired by influential rock titans (Van Halen, AC/DC, KISS, Cheap Trick) that have come before, but forging a sound uniquely their own, Kentucky rock artists, The Vindicated, prepare to leave a distinct thumbprint in rock and roll this spring. Helping to ensure an impression all their own, The Vindicated teamed with legendary heroic fantasy artist, Ken Kelly, to bring a special EP cover in the vein of classic rock albums with an attention-grabbing concept and comic flare. Kelly is well-known for his work on classic and vivid album covers such as KISS – “Destroyer”/ “Love Gun”/ “Destroyer: Resurrected,” Rainbow – “Rising,” Ace FREHLEY – “Space Invader,” Cohead and Cambria – “...No World for Tomorrow,” and many others. Not to mention, a decades-long resume in the comic world, inking CONAN THE BAR-BARIAN, MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, STAR WARS and more.
Red, White, and Rock will
open its doors Friday, May 24, at 7 p.m. at the Boyd County Community Center.
